It’s for the ones I couldn’t protect.’ With first look, Danny seems little cold and indifferent. She doesn’t talk much and seldom smiles. She pushes away people most of time, not letting them to come inside of her and get attached. So it can be little uncomfortable around her. But when you get close with her, you can see that it’s just her defense mechanism. Something called ‘survival guilt’ is what bothers Danny and makes her to block others from herself. 17 years ago, she somehow survived in the horrible diaster ‘Alvane Incident’. She went to the mall with her friends, but she was the only one who lived through. She doesn’t know why she is the only one who survived, and it makes her feels responsibility of her friends death. The incident changed Danny permanently. As the only surviver, she feels it is unfair to the deceased to prioritize her own needs. She thinks it’s her obligation to help others. That’s why she gave up other things and chose to be a Hunter, to stop Patients from hurting other and themselves. She tries to help them as far as she can. So even though she seems cold and apathic, she actually cares about everyone except herself. She put on the faceless mask just to hide her own problems and needs. Notes - After graduated high school, Danny left home to become Hunter. She learned how to hunt from Neil Hendricks, working with him for years. Although she left him due to the difference, they still get in touch with each other. - Now she works with Jean, who she met during the hunt. Jean is the few people who really knows Danny.
